In October, C + P was awarded the silver medal for sustainable action by the internationally renowned rating agency "EcoVadis" and thus achieved a place among the top 14 percent of all furniture manufacturers assessed worldwide.

The evaluation was preceded by an equally intensive and demanding assessment in the fields "environment", "labor and human rights", "ethics" and "procurement", which was carried out in accordance with internationally recognized sustainability standards (Global Reporting Initiative, United Nations Global Compact, ISO 26000).

In the field of ethics, C + P is among the top 6 percent of the companies assessed, and in terms of environmental friendliness it is among the top 26 percent. The company is also well above average in the area of labor and human rights, scoring 60 points.

For the evaluation, C + P had to answer several hundred questions and submit corresponding evidence to EcoVadis. "In total, we invested three months of time in all departments of the company to provide the answers and required evidence," reports Vesna Losert, C + P manager for energy, environment and quality. Now she is very pleased with the good result achieved in the comprehensive assessment. "It's a good summary of what we do."

C+P had last participated in the sutainability assesment four years ago, when it was also awarded the silver medal. "However, with a lower score. And back then, the standards and criteria were nowhere near as demanding and strict as they are today," explains Vesna Losert. In other words, the past four years have already been used for steady improvements.

Looking towards the future, the C + P economist notes, "With this good basis, we can continue to implement the many new suggestions we received as feedback." And maybe next year we will gain 7 points on the score which would mean the gold medal.
