The Al Jalila Children‘s Specialty Hospital was founded by Rashid Al Maktoum as a gift to the children of the United Arab Emirates. It was founded in honor of the birthday of his daughter Al Jalila, after whom this Children's Hospital is named. Designed by the Italian architectural firm Altieri International, the building boasts a high proportion of glass and spacious traffic paths. The environment with its attention to detail is designed to make a hospital stay as pleasant as possible for the children and their families. We placed great importance on functionality and design in furnishing the staff areas.
In harmony with the clear interior design of the Al Jalila Children´s Specialty Hospital, C+P, working closely with the investor, developed various furniture concepts for the following areas:
- Conference and meeting areas
- Management offices
- Team work stations
The 200-bed hospital is located in Dubai and has a pediatrics department, a trauma center, a heart center, a transplant department, several surgical and outpatient departments as well as cancer treatment and dialysis areas. Great value is also placed on teaching and research at Al Jalila Children´s Hospital: it boasts an auditorium with space for 375 as well as a number of training and education rooms.
We needed to take different criteria into account when furnishing the conference and meeting areas in order to meet the hospital's quality standards:
- Rapid configuration of different meeting situations
- Integration of the tables in the internal IT system
- State-of-the-art technology integration
Al Jalila Children's Hospital places great emphasis on continuous training and continuing education for its staff. In addition to seamless communication in meetings, the furniture must also be optimally equipped for seminar and training sessions.
C+P won over the investor with its flexible meeting tables from the Cegano series: they offer different table shapes with individual technology integration. Tailored to the client’s specific requirements, we furnished various meeting rooms in the children's hospital:
- Multimedia conference room for interactive meetings as well as video conferences
- Training room with a trainer table and seminar chairs with an integrated writing tablet
- Meeting and seminar rooms were equipped with electrified Cegano tables in various panel and frame shapes.
Stainless steel standing and sitting work stations are used in the management offices. The interplay of chromed steel frames and tabletop decors in white or wenge showcases the simple elegance of the writing tables. The glass foot well veneers harmoniously round off the design.
The combination of two work spaces promotes movement at work at also offers and ideal place for short standing meetings, the "worklift" can be adjusted to standing height. This increases worker's well-being and health and also creates an option for meetings right near the work station. The custom technical integration is yet another feature of the adjustable height table combination.

The management office furniture is complemented by office cabinets and rolling containers in stainless steel. The rolling containers offer another advantage in addition to storage space for office supplies: the comfortable leather upholstery offers another seat in the office.
Furniture from the Cegano and Asisto is used in the team offices. Additional partition solutions from the SonicWall product catalog are integrated in the room concept in order to improve the room acoustics and increase privacy at the team work stations. The completely white furniture optimally supports the clean design character of the hospital building.

Even the furniture in the staff lounge areas and the spacious planned library is in harmony with the furniture concept of the office and conference areas. The tables used offer plenty of space for several people in each room. In the break rooms, the tables invite visitors to communicate with their colleagues, and in the rest areas, they foster focused work. The meticulously furnished play areas at Al Jalila Children´s Hospital round off the interior with a focus on the target group: young patients feel very at ease here, which supports their healing process.
